As in every year, the boarding schools Schreckenstein and Rosenfels on Lake Kapell have been competing to see who can pull off the most imaginative pranks and acts of wanton sabotage. But they've taken the game too far this time, because Count Schreckenstein's zeppelin crashes and though the lord of the castle just about survives, he is left financially ruined and has to go to a sanatorium for several weeks. Kuno, the count's nephew, is appointed his deputy. Kuno hatches a plan to sell the castle to the Chinese entrepreneur Wang, who wants to transport Schreckenstein brick-by-brick to a theme park in his home country. Stephan, Ottokar, Mosquito, Strehlau and Dampfwalze – and of course servant Jean – have to find a way to stop it...
