Next stop, boarding school! The news hits eleven-year-old Stephan like a sledgehammer. Not only do his parents, who live apart, constantly argue, but now his mother Melanie informs him that they want to send him to a boarding school in the old Schreckenstein Castle. They hope this will improve Stephan's grades. But the boys from Schreckenstein do not turn out to be nerds at all. After some initial differences, Ottokar, Mücke, Strehlau and Dampfwalze accept Stephan into their Secret Knights' Society and then the boarding school fun really starts! The boys from Schreckenstein are at war with the girls from the neighboring Rosenfels boarding school. While Principal Rex sees the prank feud between the two boarding schools as harmless and the Count of Burg Schreckenstein only has his ambitious hot-air balloons on his mind anyway, the principal of Rosenfels, Dr. Horn, is appalled by the lack of discipline. While her girls, especially Bea, Inga and Alina, are forging a plan of revenge against the "Schreckies", even as they're already tinkering with the next prank. None of them yet suspect that boys and girls will have to live under the same roof just for the castle festival. It's surely a disaster waiting to happen...or is it?
